What incident/event made/influenced/inspired you to set up this organization rather than a business?

The situation of widows in Tanzania is invisible. Widows are economically and socially vulnerable, they are facing injustice and most of them can not afford legal services.

How do you manage and run your organization?

Through stakeholders and lawyers who are willing to volunteer.

What was the most challenging problem you faced in the leadership and management of your NGO?

Grants, international cooperation and Human Resources.

What can you say is your best reward for choosing to found your NGO?

We have improved the status of widows in our community .

What is most pressing? What would you like to have done in the next 3 months? 3years?

More reaching out programs, expand to other regions apart from Arusha.

What makes this organization different from similar organizations?

Our organization is working to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal No 5 “Gender Equality” which leaves no woman behind.

TAWLA- Tanzania Women Lawyers Association.

Yes.

What are the key indicators by which you measure your impact?

Number of women we have helped.

What are the creative and innovative things that you have done in the last 3 years?

The use of Radio programs and publications to reach more women.

What are the organization’s strengths, and what challenges does it face?

We are futuristic, achievers and activators. The challenge is resource mobilization

Not yet

Addition of new policy

We value project completion and achievements

We have helped more than 500 widows to attain their rights

The changes we have made in the lives of widows

We have active volunteers and few donors

Trainings and make them feel part of the organization
